The Season 3 finale of "The Good Wife" was packed with twists and turns, leaving fans with four major cliffhangers to ponder over the summer. The final episode nicely intertwined the main cast, including a hilariously awkward elevator scene that brought several conflicting parties together. Speaking of conflict, it looks like Season 4 could get even more complicated.
KalindaGood news: Alicia and Kalinda are closer to being friends again, the latter even offering up an answer to a question from two years ago: "I'm not gay, I'm flexible." That wasn't the big climax of this storyline, however. While checking up on some uncashed checks in Kalinda's IRS case, Alicia inadvertently dug up an old, scary acquaintance of the investigator -- her husband. When the ex threateningly called Alicia at her home, Kalinda rethought her strategy of getting out of dodge. The end of the episode left her sitting sentry at home, gun pointed at her front door.
Lockhart GardnerWith Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) and Patti Nyolm (Martha Plimpton) working together, you knew they had to be up to something. At first it seemed to be a frivolous lawsuit designed to drown Lockhart Gardner in expensive legal fees. It turned out to be a poaching of one of their most lucrative clients, however, just when their balloon mortgage payment was due.
Alicia and PeterTo avoid conflict of interest charges in that frivolous lawsuit, Peter had to confess that he and Alicia were separated. Now that the cat's out of the bag, his campaign could be in serious jeopardy. Meanwhile, he's decided to buy their old family house from his mother and flip it. He and the kids hang out there, and the Season 3 finale has Alicia standing outside her former home, deciding if it's worth the emotional risk to accept her son's invitation and "just have dinner" with them.
Season 4 spoilers"The Good Wife" star Christine Baranski has said that the law firm will hit a low point in Season 4. "We have to have a trustee [played by Nathan Lane] come on board to basically take over our finances. We're facing liquidation." Work continues for at least a little while, for rumor has it that Kalinda's scary husband could be a new client.
Tune in to the Season 4 premiere to find out the rest! Episode 1 airs Sunday, 9/30 at 9PM ET on CBS.
