"Grey's Anatomy" fans are ready for the Season 8 premier. It's destined to be two hours off what? Excitement? Sadness? Heartbreak? It's hard to tell at this point, but it will be anything but boring. The Season 8 teaser is brief, but it's enough to get those fan brain cells working overtime. Did the chief actually fire Meredith Grey because she "disgraced the hospital"? Why yes he did, and that's a shame; but there are a few other things to think about as the "Grey's Anatomy" doctors begin Season 8 on September 22.
Dr. Karev, rejected again
His pretty blonde wife left him a few seasons ago, maybe that's why Karev is such a tattle-tale jerk. So what if Meredith screwed up the drug study results. He didn't have to tell on her, but he did. Now he's cost her the job she loves and everybody hates him. He didn't even get the Chief Resident's job he was sucking up for. Kepner beat him out of that. Poor Karev, he won't have a lot going for him in Season 8, but there's one bright spot. He has nowhere to go but up.
Jackson Avery's Mom is coming for a visit
What happens when lovers get close? Somebody's mother usually shows up. Little Lexie Grey made her romantic intentions clear the day she ditched poor, sad Mark Sloan in the middle of a personal crisis. It was time to make a decision, so she walked away.... with Jackson. They're getting serious now, so serious that mom, Catherine Avery will make a motherly appearance in the fifth episode. If she looks familiar, it's because that smooth dancing lady is Debbie Allen. She's been a staple on stage and screen for quite a few years. Debbie's even directed a few "Grey's Anatomy" episodes. She's talented indeed, still it might be wise if she takes a few TV mom lessons from her sister, Claire Huxtable actress, Felicia.
A lover's triangle for Dr. Bailey
Miranda's husband was so mean to her, she needs the attention of two handsome medical men to make up for it. When Jason George returns as Ben, Miranda's ex (the anesthesiologist not the husband) she should have two times the fun. She really liked Ben, but got over him really fast when nurse Eli came along. By the end of Season 7 she and Eli were into some heavy duty love play. Will she have to make a choice? More than likely she will. The sure bet is Eli. He's so cute.
So what about Meredith?
Poor, poor Meredith. It took years, but she finally got real with Derrick. They got a real marriage, not the fake Post-it variety. She adopted an African orphan girl. (Derrick's idea, not hers) She decided it was okay to have a big house built in the middle of no place. Meredith Grey was becoming a real live wife and mother, then it all fell apart. There's got to be more of a life lesson then the bottom falling out of Meredith's life the moment she let her guard down. Viewers will have to wait and see what happens next.
