'Grey's Anatomy' Season 9 premiere: Where we left off

Fans of "Grey's Anatomy" likely spent their summer wondering what would happen to the characters stuck out in the woods after the plane crash in the season finale. There are other storylines, though, which cannot be forgotten as they will have major impacts on the next season. While all of the characters on the show will be affected by the loss of Dr. Lexie Grey, there are other effects that have yet to be determined.

    Character loss

The loss of Little Grey will continue to impact Meredith and Mark, but there are other proposed losses on the show fans have to remember. Dr. Owen Hunt fired Teddy so she would be forced to take the job offered to her by MEDCOM. The chief of surgery was also working on creating the new surgical team while Alex and Jackson are considering positions are other medical facilities. April failed her board certification so her future is undetermined. Dr. Ben Warren and Dr. Miranda Bailey have decided to get married even though they will have to figure out how to make it work with Ben taking a position across country.

    Forthcoming season premiere

Eric Dane is reportedly leaving "Grey's Anatomy" during Season 9, so there is a strong chance he will die from the same plane crash that took his beloved. There have been hints about Owen being impacted in an unpredictable way by the crash, so fans will have to see if he can work with Yang to get past his infidelity. Even though Meredith and Derek were debating about leaving Seattle Grace, the impact of his injured hand might keep the two characters residing at the show's featured hospital. One things for sure, the Season 9 premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" should be packed with as many surprises as the Season 8 finale.
