On Tuesday night's "Grimm" episode, "Kiss of the Muse," everything seems to be looking up for Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), just as Nick (David Giuntoli) goes under the spell of a Wesen. This time, it's a Musai (or muse) rather than a Hexenbiest that is able to charm people to do their bidding. It's up to Nick's friends to pull him out of oblivion before he loses his mind -- literally!
Introducing the muse
Khloe Sedgwick (Nora Zehetner) is a woman whose ex-boyfriend, Anton Cole (Brian Gant), has become insane with jealousy, killing her current boyfriend. But nothing is what it seems when Wesen are involved. Khloe is actually the cause of Cole's insanity. She immediately starts in on Nick, kissing his hand as he investigates the murder of her boyfriend.
Nick begins the slide to insanity
The kiss on Nick's hand is enough to lure him to Khloe's home, where she plants a full-on kiss on his lips, and that's it. He's a goner. But the kiss is not quite what Khloe expected. She assumed Nick was some sort of artist, which is her usual prey. When Nick sees her Wesen side, then enabling her to see that Nick is a Grimm, she begins to freak.
Everyone realizes something is horribly wrong when he becomes paranoid that all his friends are out to get him. He even blows off Juliette, who finally wants to speak with him for the first time since he moved out. Luckily, Nick draws a picture of Khloe while at a bar, where Hank (Russell Hornsby) meets up with him right before Nick starts a bar fight.
Hank takes the drawing of the Khloe to Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner), and they all head over to Nick's trailer, sans Nick, to do some research. This is Rosalee's first time seeing the trailer, and she is quite impressed with the morbid display. They find the entry for the Musai, but unfortunately, the book of Wesen says that there is no cure for Nick's enchantment. Rosalee realizes that the only cure may lie in true love, meaning that Juliette is the only one who can save him.
Juliette remembers everything
Juliette realizes that it's time to go to the trailer on her own in order to bring back the last of her missing memories of Nick. Monroe is hesitant at first but gives her the key with some coaxing from Rosalee. This may be the only way to save Nick.
She returns from the trailer after seeing the memories of Nick trying to explain what he is, but everything is different this time. Before, she thought Nick was crazy. Now that Monroe has prepared her with the news that Nick is different, she believes. Now there's just that pesky problem of saving Nick from the Musai's snare.
Juliette must save Nick
Because Nick is a Grimm, the effect of the Musai's kiss has a much more profound effect, causing him to lose insanity much more quickly and powerfully than normal. He is already to the point where he wants to kill Cole -- who is being held in a jail cell at the precinct -- to get him out of the way so he can have Khloe all to himself.
Monroe, Rosalee, Renard (Sasha Roiz), Hank, and Juliette all show up at the jail, anticipating Nick's next move. Nick already has the gun pointed at Cole's head, but a few soft words and a tender touch from Juliette is all it takes to pull him right out of his madness. Having missed Juliette for so long after she forgot who he was, and having longed for her touch, made the cure for the Musai's kiss just as powerful as the kiss itself.
