Heidi Klum makes a sea-foam splash on the Emmy Awards red carpet

Heidi Klum might be newly single, but if she keeps stepping out like she did at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards, she probably won't be for long.

On the heels of her split from ex-hubby Seal, "Project Runway" star Heidi Klum turned up on the red carpet in a stunning sea-foam green chiffon Alexandre Vauthier gown that boasted a plunging neckline and a slit up to there.

On E!'s Red Carpet Live Show, Klum dished to emcee Ryan Seacrest why she chose the daring dress.

"It is a designer from Paris. I love the color and the cut, and I love the slit. I like a high slit," she said, showing it off for the "American Idol" host, who did a double-take and was nearly left speechless (but not quite since this is Ryan Seacrest we are talking about).

On the red carpet, Klum also stopped to chat with "Emmy Red Carpet Live" hosts Clinton Kelly and Lara Spencer.

"This is literally the highest slit I've ever seen on a dress in my entire life!" a stunned Clinton Kelly said of the leg-baring dress. "Any higher, and you might be arrested."

So how did the 39-year-old supermodel get the dress altered to cover here, there, and not so much there?

According to Heidi Klum on AOL, Klum's stylist, Maryam Malakpour, revealed that the revealing dress posed a few challenges early on.

"It was completely sheer, so we had the designer add lining, but then the lining made the dress feel too bulky, and it lost its cool and airy feel, so we had to think and made it work!" Malakpour said.

"Project Runway" is nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition Program, but we'll give Klum the award for the most daring dress of the evening!
