The long-term fan-labeled relationship of FOX's hit television series "House MD" between Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) and Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) deemed Huddy, has become the focal point of season seven and with good reason. This love match, that's been teased at since the show first aired in 2004 has had fans waiting impatiently for the fabled "Huddy" union for nearly 6 years, but do you know the history between this turbulent new couple?The unseen back-story between House and Cuddy:
Most of what we do know was revealed during an 80's slow dance the two had in the episode, "Known Unknowns" of season 6. The two talk about the last time they danced and their history together. House first met Cuddy at the University of Michigan which he attended after being kicked out of Johns Hopkins University, in a book store. She later tracks him down at a party and they spent the evening together. It's not made clear in this episode if they slept together but it is said that they have in "Top Secret" earlier in the series. In an episode in season 5, "Under my Skin" Cuddy even admits she pretended to be in a class House was taking simply to be closer to him. The two lost contact shortly after a one-night stand they had in college after which House never called her for another date. They don't meet again until some years later, when House who is having trouble finding employment due to his disrespect for authority and unique personality finds Cuddy has just become dean of medicine. She offers him a job, at a low wage and he accepts.
Fan favorite Huddy moments before becoming an actual couple:
Season 2:
"Who's your Daddy?"- Cuddy has House give her fertility shots in her upper thigh twice a day. It's hinted at she may be planning to ask him to be a sperm donor as well, but never does ask.
Season 3:
"Half-Wit"- The two hug and House grabs Cuddy's ass.
Season 4:
"Wilson's Heart"- House awakes from a coma with Cuddy holding his hand, who has loyally stayed by his side the whole time.
Season 5:
"Joy"- The two share their first actually in the series kiss.
"Let Them Eat Cake"- House grabs Cuddy's breast rather than kissing her, as they'd "already done that".
"Under my Skin" - We see House and Cuddy make-out after she helps him resist his urge to take vicodin, however later this is revealed to be a hallucination and leads House to be committed so he can give up vicodin for good.
It's also in season 5 that the series seems to take a turn from flirtatious maybe to definite going to happen as House hires a private investigator to look into Cuddy's personal life. Unfortunately this private investigator falls for Cuddy as well and makes his move before House does. Much of season 6 focuses on House's frustration over this and attempt to break the two up. Finally, in the season finale "Help Me", Cuddy follows House home after losing a patient and admits she loves him. They sleep together and the relationship known as Huddy is officially begun.
Current relationship:
Season 7 of "House MD" is all about Huddy. Almost every episode features a new hurdle the couple overcomes from House meeting Cuddy's mom to finding a balance between their personal and professional relationships. In the season 7 episode "Recession Proof" fans are shown that despite all obstacles House and Cuddy may just make it. After losing a patient (one of few in the series) House gets drunk and arrives at Cuddy's house. At first it appears he will break-up with her explaining being happy and loving her makes him a crappy doctor, but he finishes in a huddy moment that leaves your heart full saying that he chooses her and losing lives is worth it if he can have her love.
