    'House' Creator David Shore's Legal Pilot Lands at ABC

    "House M.D." creator David Shore is shifting his focus from the hospital to the courtroom.

    ABC has purchased a legal drama from Shore with a pilot-production commitment, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

    The as-yet-untitled project revolves around a former cop who's now a cunning but charming low-rent lawyer who uses his street smarts to work the system for his clients while battling his own demons and wooing his ex-wife.

    Sony Pictures Television, with whom Shore inked an overall deal in June, is producing.

    Shore is no stranger to the legal genre, having served as an en executive producer on "Family Law," as well as a consulting producer on "Century City" and a producer on "Law & Order."

    Shore's "House M.D." ended its eight-season run on Fox in May.

    Deadline first reported the news of Shore's pilot deal with ABC.
