The "House" Season 8 premiere, which airs October 3rd, has now begun filming. In addition, the first three episode titles have been released. Titles may not give you much to go on, but they do hint at story-line spoilers. The nature of the these titles also suggest that while Gregory House may start the season off in jail, and remain there for several months according to sources, there will still be medical cases being solved. What else can we derive from these released "House" Season 8 titles?
Season 8 premiere, "Twenty Vicodin" airs October 3, 2011
According to IMDB.com, all of the regular cast members will be in this episode, even the elusive Olivia Wilde, who is rumored to only be in very few episodes this season. Odette Annabel, one of the shows newest members, is also listed meaning the shows latest doctor will be introduced. While previously it appeared she would be a prisoner in jail with house, this is not the case. Dr. Adams will be a volunteer at the prison House is in. She could possibly be his doctor, either to deliver his medication, or deal with his withdraws. A stunt crew is also listed. The stunt crew is an interesting addition; this could mean some action can be expected in the premiere. Based on the title, we can guess House's vicodin addiction plays some part in the episode, likely in conjunction with his recent arrest and incarceration.
Season 8, Episode 2, "Transplant" airs October 10, 2011
In this episode, only Hugh Laurie and Odette are listed as cast. This could possibly mean the episode focuses on the two, but the third episode only lists these two as well, so it's possible a full cast is just unknown. The title, "Transplant" does suggest a medical case. However, it could also be a transplanting of people. Either House himself, or Dr. Adams from the jail staff, or possibly another member's of House's team. While this could also be the episode in which Cuddy is "transplanted" from her position as boss-lady. David Shore has confirmed she won't be appearing in any early episodes to wrap up her character. The writers have chosen to down-play her leaving, and not make a big story arc out of it.
Season 8, Episode 3, "Charity Case" airs October 17, 2011
It's in this episode, rumors are suggesting Thirteen, played by Olivia Wilde will leave the diagnostic team, and possibly no longer appear in episodes. This is an unconfirmed rumor, as she is under contract, likely for more than 3 episodes. David Shore was quoted in an interview saying, "You'll see her early this season. You won't see a lot of her -- " after being asked how much we'll see of Thirteen. His choice of the word "early" does support the suggestion. The title doesn't hint at much, but is good to know at the least. "Charity Case", does, however, have a fight choreographer listed in its cast and crew. This means whatever it's about, there's a physical tussle to look forward to.
