Jessica Simpson Debuts Baby Maxwell: 'We Stare at Her All the Time'

After what felt like an eternity waiting for her to get here, Jessica Simpson's newborn daughter Maxwell Drew has finally made her debut to the world. In exclusive photos that will appear in People magazine on newsstands this Friday, the new mom proudly shows off her adorable little bundle of joy, who was delivered via c-section on May 1 and weighed 9 pounds, 13 ounces. On the cover, Simpson, dressed in a cream-colored nightgown, happily cradles a sleeping baby Maxwell. In the accompanying article, she gushes, "Life has completely changed. From how I sleep to what I think about, Maxwell has definitely taken over everything!"

Simpson, 31, and her fiancé, former NFL player Eric Johnson, also reveal that their first child has inherited her famous mother's eyes and her daddy's calm demeanor. "We stare at her all the time," says the fashion mogul of Maxwell, whose first name is Johnson's middle name (Drew is Simpson's mother Tina's maiden name). "We can't get enough!" Simpson also added that recovering from her c-section has been rough and breastfeeding baby Maxwell is "a full-on job."

Despite the fact that she's nursing, her husband-to-be has also been able to bond with his daughter during feeding time — even though it's not always easy for his fiancée. Says Simpson, "It's the worst if I have to pump and give Eric a bottle to give her. I miss holding her and having that closeness."
