Jillian Michaels Explains Why She Came Back To The Biggest Loser

Jillian Michaels is back coaching on "The Biggest Loser," which begins its latest season tonight on NBC, and she explained on Sunday what brought her back to the fold once again.

"Several things brought me back," she said in response to a question from AccessHollywood.com at NBC's "The Biggest Loser" panel at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour 2013 in Pasadena, Calif.

"First of all, I missed this one," she said, grabbing the arm of fellow coach Bob Harper. "And I was excited to meet [Dolvett Quince]."

She also likened her return to a pop star playing one of their greatest hits at a concert.

"With that said, also, you leave the show, and you want to do new things and everyone's like, 'That's great.' 'You wanna do this? Good for you, we support you, that's wonderful. Can you go back to 'Biggest Loser'?'... Bob and I saw Madonna in concert recently and she played a lot of new music and we were like, 'Cool. When's she gonna play 'Holiday'?'" the trainer laughed. "And 'The Biggest Loser' is sort of my version of 'Holiday.'"

Jillian said she also came back to the show, which this season features youngsters, to help inspire.

"I greatly overestimated how tremendously inspired the American public gets by the show, so I'm excited to be back for that reason as well, and then childhood obesity is something we've all fought on a myriad of fronts," she continued. "Bob works with the First Lady, I work with The Clinton Foundation, Dolvett does what he does, and having a vehicle like 'The Biggest Loser,' the resources and the exposure -- to be able to exploit that is really exciting and I feel we've all done that."
