Joseph Gordon-Levitt is returning to television as the creator, director and star of HitRECord on TV!, a variety show to air on Participant Media's soon-to-be-launched cable network, Pivot.

HitRECord on TV!, which is based on Gordon-Levitt's open collaborative production company hitRECord, will feature a variety of programming including shorts, performances, comedy and more that were created from the site's online community contributions. Each episode will focus on a different theme.

Boy Meets World's Danielle Fishel and more child stars all grown up!

The announcement was made as part of Participant's upfront presentation that revealed the name of the network and the slate of programming that include a live talk show, a docu-series starring Meghan McCain, a period drama from the writer of Moulin Rouge and a reality series based in New Jersey.

Gordon-Levitt, who recently appeared in the Oscar-winning film Lincoln, hasn't had a starring role on television since 3rd Rock from the Sun which ended its six-season run in 2001.

Pivot, which launches August 1, will be available through traditional Pay TV packages and allow subscribers to stream the network, Live and On Demand, to any device, anywhere.
