Kim Richards: "I Drank to Cover the Guilt and Shame"

Kim Richards is facing her demons.

In the third and final installment of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion Monday, the 47-year-old explained her erratic behavior on the Bravo series.

"I'm an alcoholic," Richards told host Andy Cohen. "I have so much guilt and shame for my behavior and what I did. And then I drank to cover the guilt and shame."

Richards completed her third stint in rehab in January. "I'm a person that has done it and relapsed and done it. But at least I'm trying," the former child star said. "I felt off. I just didn't like me anymore and I couldn't look at myself in the mirror anymore."

Watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was too much for Richards to bear.

"When I first started the season, I was still not drinking and you could see my confidence level. And then you could see just from my behavior when I lost my confidence and started drinking," she said. "I could not watch the show when I saw that behavior coming out of myself because I was so ashamed of what I'd done."

Richards then agreed to watch footage from one of the final episodes, where she appeared intoxicated while scrounging around for her belongings on the bathroom floor.

"I don't know what the heck is going on there, but I felt bad for her," Richards said. "It's just sad. The voice wasn't mine, the mannerisms weren't mine. It just wasn't me."

The Bravo star is determined to stay sober this time around. "I just really want this," she explained. "I'll work really hard for it every day."

Still doesn't change the fact she's an over-the hill has-been who did a few crappy movies 40 years ago.

In her interview with Andy she slipped and said when she was using, still lying about her behavior and still blaming Brandy for hurting her family oh please you did that when you started using drugs and alcohol and allowed yourself to be filmed,

YAWN. More serious stuff happening out there than listening about the "Trials" of an entitled, self-indulgent Hollyweirdo.

I think more is going on then drinking. You don't go to the bathroom all night to drink. She was doing that in front of everyone. She was obviously doing something she didn't want people to see. She will never recover until she comes clean and admits what her addiction really is. I believe alcohol is a factor, but it's not the only factor!

part of the 12 steps program is to apologize to those who were effected by your drinking. she is still blaming others for her behavior and clearly has no plans to apologize to anyone. As usual, its all about HER She didnt look all that different to me. I think the Beverly Hills Docs are still supplying her with pills.

Drinking is simply a symptom .... what created the drinking ? She needs to find out the real reason ... not just the guilt from drinking .....that might help her

Don't be a shame just because you rush into something that you really throught it was love, everybody in the world is looking for true love, its just that the timely manner for which you have taken was not long enough for you to jump the ship just yet. True love takes time so next time slow up and grow up.
