‘La Que No Podía Amar’ recap: Baby drama destroys lives

Cynthia's futile attempts to stop Gustavo from leaving her in "La Que No Podía Amar" have forced her to lie again. She has tried to seduce him, commit suicide, and has reached her final idea. She wants Gustavo to believe that her daughter is really his and not the product of her affair with Efrain.

    Desperate

Cynthia is desperate to save her marriage with Gustavo and prevent him from turning back to Ana Paula. Despite some of his comments, she knows that he still has feelings for Ana Paula. However, her decision to lie about the paternity of her child is quickly destroying the lives of the people around her. Cynthia is too absorbed in her own feelings to care about others.

    The fall

Gustavo has slowly become aware of Cynthia's precarious mental condition. He forces her to see a therapist, but she continues to skip the sessions. One of their arguments ends with Cynthia rushing down the stairs with her typical recklessness. She falls and puts her baby's life at risk.

    Delusional

Although both Cynthia and her daughter survive the fall, this episode does not teach her anything. She is still willing to use any method to keep Gustavo and does not care about her child. Cynthia has been able to keep the truth about her daughter's paternity a secret because Gustavo would never forgive her affair. Her remarks in the hospital show that she is still delusional and not able to see the reality of her relationship with Gustavo.

    Spreading the misery

Cynthia's latest actions have done little to fix the problems around her. She has only succeeded in making people more miserable. She is keeping Gustavo in a loveless marriage and refuses to let him leave. She is still leading on Efrain to keep her secret, but does not love him. Moreover, she is not allowing herself to find a normal relationship by staying with Gustavo.

    Narcissistic personality disorder

Cynthia seems to be suffering from narcissistic personality disorder. She is completely self-absorbed and has never cared about the feelings of others. She cannot handle criticism and has been selfish throughout "La Que No Podía Amar." She rejects Maria, her mother, because she does not want to be associated with a servant. She only keeps her child because she wants to use her against Gustavo. In addition, she maintains her constant jealousy of Ana Paula. It seems that Cynthia's therapy sessions have failed.
