The RT show, “Politics with Larry King,” will be produced by Ora TV. RT will also air “Larry King Now,” which was launched on Hulu and Ora TV in July 2012.
The shows will be recorded at RT’s studios in Washington, D.C., and Ora TV’s studios in Los Angeles. RT America will be the exclusive U.S. broadcaster for both programs. “Larry King Now” will continue to stream online at Hulu.com and Ora.tv, and will also be available online on rt.com.
“I have always been passionate about government and issues that impact the public, and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to talk politics with some of the most influential people in Washington and around the country,” King said in a statement.
RT’s editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan said King would not dodge controversy.
“Whether a president or an activist or a rock star was sitting across from him, Larry King never shied away from asking the tough questions, which makes him a terrific fit for our network,” Simonyan said.
Among other shows aired by RT is one hosted by Julian Assange.
RT, which is funded by the Russian government, launched in December 2005. Its network consists of three global news channels, broadcasting in English, Spanish and Arabic.
