Lynette is the 'Desperate Housewives' Wonder Woman: Will She Be Able to Keep it Up?

How many women can do a strip tease for their husband to keep the marriage spicy, cook and do laundry for a large family, and keep up work as a busy executive at an advertising agency? There aren't many who fit that description in suburban America, but one desperate housewife does.

Lynette Scavo has gone through it all on "Desperate Housewives." Her character was a savvy business executive before staying home to raise her kids and she managed to re-forge her career after giving birth to four of them. She survived cancer, helped her alcoholic mother, ran a restaurant, was addicted to pain killers and was almost the victim of a serial killer. A fourth pregnancy did take her out of the workplace, but not until she was in her final trimester. She seems to be able to handle more each week than most of us do in a lifetime.

In season seven, with five children, Lynette Scavo even joins college friend Renee Perry (played perfectly by Vanessa L. Williams) in forming an interior design business. Most unbelievable of all, Lynette manages to do it all while maintaining a body that appears to be incredible. Who could possibly forget the episode where she took it all (OK, some of it) off and danced on top of the bar? It was a moment of proof that she was a wonder woman inside and out, and she wanted to let the world know it.

The most ironic thing of all is that everyone on screen and millions of fans offscreen love Lynette Scavo. That credit has to go to Felicity Huffman. Rather than make us feel jealous of all she can do, she makes us like her despite the fact that her life is unrealistic. Why? The actress who plays Lynette is a bit of a super woman herself. Born in New York in 1962, Huffman is far from desperate or housewife. In 2005, she won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the critically acclaimed "Transamerica." When she's not out filming "Desperate Housewives" or making movies, Huffman's home with her husband, actor William H. Macy. They run triathlons between spending time with their two daughters. Macy also finds time to star in the Showtime television series "Shameless."

Despite what she seems to be able to handle on and off the camera, is it possible for Lynette Scavo to do it all? She had a minor breakdown after losing one of the twins she was carrying in season six . Will pushing Tom into a high powered job leave her too much to handle on her own? Stay tuned to find out.
