Lammers' mother contacted police Thursday after her son purchased weapons — two assault rifles and hundreds of bullets — reminiscent of those used in James Holmes' alleged attack during a Dark Knight Rises showing in Aurora, Colo., in July. When he was questioned that afternoon, Lammers admitted to purchasing a ticket to a Sunday screening of Breaking Dawn Part 2 in Bolivar, Mo., where he planned on shooting the people inside.

Lammers was jailed in Polk County on $500,000 bond. According to the Bolivar Police Chief Steve Hamilton, he is currently "off of his medication" and is being treated for mental illness.
