    Mario Lopez Ventures Into Producing With Several Unscripted TV Projects

    Mario Lopez, host of syndicated entertainment newsmagazine Extra and MTV’s dance completion American’s Best Dance Crew, has lined up several series projects as a producer. At MTV 3, he has a 10-episode commitment for Golden Boys, a docu series following some of the top young Latin boxers in the world, which he is executive producing with boxing star Oscar De La Hoya, 3 Arts Entertainment and 51 Minds. Lopez also has a series commitment at Comcast’s Latin-driven channel NuVo for Conversations With Mario, an in-depth look at some of the most influential Latin celebrities in the world, which he is exec producing with 3 Arts and Gordo Entertainment.

    At ABC Family, Lopez is behind Back To Badass, a pilot presentation for a reality series where athletes battle to get back to where they once were and even better. Lopez is exec producing with Trip Taylor. The three projects are in addition to the upcoming Mario Lopez And Courtney Mazza Wedding Special, a two-hour special for TLC chronicling Lopez and Mazza’s preparations leading to their December wedding. The two are executive producing. Lopez also is in post on an untitled boxing documentary he is producing in addition to being one of the subjects, along with Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson, De La Hoya, Manny Pacquiao, Micky Ward, Freddie Roach, Bob Arum, Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ron Howard, Donald Trump and others. In other media, Lopez’s LA radio show, On With Mario Lopez, just went national.
