Mark Consuelos has joined the cast of American Horror Story for the show's sophomore season, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
According to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the news, Consuelos will play a patient named Spivey in Season 2, which began production this week and will be set in an institution for the criminally insane.

Appearing alongside Consuelos will be returning cast members Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Zachary Quinto, as well as Season 2 newcomers Adam Levine, Chloe Sevigny, Joseph Fiennes and James Cromwell.
Consuelos, the 41-year-old husband of morning show host Kelly Ripa, previously starred on All My Children and most recently guest-starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
