Maya Rudolph: Emmys best night ever exclusive

Emmys photos

Maya Rudolph, who is nominated for hosting "Saturday Night Live," has probably impersonated many of the actresses she will see at the Emmys. She tells Yahoo! about her plans for the award show, and why she may still need a ride there…

You perform live, so does this make you nervous?
I've never been to the Emmys, so it is all theory right now. It is work, so I think once you get there and are in your seat, you can relax a little more.

What are you looking forward to?
I always forget how many good friends I have in this business, so when you go it is fun to see your friends dressed up. That is nice. I'm not very good at the dressing up part yet. I'll get there one day.

Do you know what you'll wear?

I don't have designers lining up yet, but I would love that. That would be a dream come true. I always wanted to be a fashion designer and that never really happened.

Are you a fashion risk-taker?
I am a fashion nerd. I am a crazy fashion nerd -- I have problems. Sky's the limit.

Must-have Emmy accessories?
I want to bring a blankie and a pillow for the night.

Who gets the extra ticket?
I think I literally have one ticket, and I'm not kidding. I think that is what they give you.

Lonely limo ride?
I am going to have to carpool. I will go with my friends.

How do the Emmys compare to your normal nightlife?
I don't go out because I have three kids -- I don't have fun. I don't ever go out! It is going to be an adult party night!

Big plans?
I am getting a babysitter. That is a big deal. That is planning in advance. I will be up at 7 a.m., but if I win, I will make the babysitter sleep over.
