The forthcoming season of "The Mentalist" has fans all ready to start the action. We are all wondering about the fate of Patrick Jane, who, at the end of last season appeared to be a murder. We want to know if it truly was Red John who Jane killed. And we want to know how Jane will reintegrate himself back into the CBI if indeed he has accomplished his goal of wiping out Red John.
Of course the antics of Jane are what makes "The Mentalist" stand out from any of the other litany of crime dramas on television. So the thought that Simon Baker would be written out of the show is just silly.
Still Jane could be in the clink for a while at the beginning of the fourth season of his show. So the network is doing their best to tickle our viewing bone by rolling out an exciting list of guest stars for the forthcoming season. Here are a few:
Jonathan Schmock: Set to show up in the fifth episode of the fourth season, Jonathan Schmock will be playing William Gardiner; an environmentalist. One could imagine plenty of subtle humors when Jane runs up against this former "Arrested Development" actor.
Reed Diamond: Another guest star for the forthcoming season of "The Mentalist" includes actor from "The Shield" Reed Diamond. Diamond will be playing Ray Haffner; a supervising CBI agent who will be working with Lisbon on a killing from the second episode of the season.
Michael Rady: A very young addition to the team of "The Mentalist" Rady, who may be best known for his work on "Greek," "Swingtown," and the most recent edition of "Melrose Place" will actually be something of a new addition to the cast. We will see for how long he'll be able to hang around as he will be the head of the CBI. If you think Jane doesn't like being told what to do by anyone imagine how Cho and Lisbon are going to react to this very young guy taking the reins of their department. Heads will butt with this addition for sure.
Kelli Williams: Another confirmed guest star on the forthcoming season of "The Mentalist" will be Kelli Williams. Williams has had roles on "Lie to Me" and "The Practice" among others. On "The Mentalist," she will be playing a repeat customer for Mr. Jane. Apparently her character, Beth Flint, had gone to Jane once before when he was a psychic. Now Flint is back to see if Jane can help her with her son.
While these guest roles are just the beginning for an exciting season of television, they all require Patrick Jane to be out there with his sleuth hat on to get the job done.
