NBC's Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane has all the nods to the original CBS series on which it was based -- and then some.
In a behind-the-scenes clip exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter from Friday's Halloween special, creators Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) and Bryan Singer (Superman Returns) go inside the famed 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

From Lily's (Portia de Rossi) dress made of spider webs and Eddie's fire-breathing "pet" Spot to the shout-out to the original Herman Munster's (Jerry O'Connell) classic Frankenstein-like bolts, Fuller left no stone unturned in the creating the high-concept world of the family of monsters.
"We're actually be seeing them do monstrous things," Fuller says in the preview, which also showcases Grandpa Munster's (Eddie Izzard) winged and not-so-secret identity.
Rather than pick up Mockingbird Lane, described as a reimagining of the 1960s CBS comedy, NBC has opted to air the hourlong pilot on Friday at 8 p.m. ahead of a Halloween-themed episode of Grimm.

As THR has detailed, NBC was considering scrapping the project before current chairman Bob Greenblatt came on board in early 2011 and opted to redeveloped the reboot extensively. After two years in development, NBC produced the pilot, which sources say cost a whopping $10 million.
