With those pesky salary negotiations out of the way, it's business as usual for the cast of ABC's "Modern Family." So as the cast heads back to work, what can fans expect for Season 4 of the popular sitcom?
Baby on board
What to expect when Gloria Pritchett is expecting? Plenty of laughs, we're sure! While "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara recently got engaged in real life, her television alter ego is already married with children.
In an interview with TV Line, show creator Steve Levitan said, "This year's premiere is kind of picking up right where we left off, with Gloria's announcement to the audience that she's pregnant. And in our premiere, everyone else finds out. Everybody, as you can imagine, has big reactions to this news, and the whole episode is about that."
One baby-related spoiler: As Gloria gains pregnancy weight, she doesn't want to change any of her sexy outfits. Can you say hot mama? Baby Pritchett will be born midway through the season.
Can you teach a new dog old tricks?
In addition to a new baby, the Pritchetts will be getting a new dog. Well, sort of. According to TMZ, the part of Jay and Gloria's dog, Stella, has been recast. The original Stella -- who has been played by a French bulldog named Brigitte -- has been let go and will be replaced by another French bulldog, Beatrice. How do you say "woof" in French?
School days
Producer Christopher Lloyd revealed to TV Line that Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) goes back to school this year -- as an elementary school teacher! We wonder what's on the curriculum -- Clown 101?
And even with the character of Haley (Sarah Hyland) off to college, "She's involved in virtually all episodes," Lloyd said. "She heads off to college, but it's not that far away. She stays in touch, and she visits home; it's kind of a typical first-year-in-college experience, in that she feels a little bit of loneliness and adjustment. She wants her family, but doesn't want her family."
Phil with facial hair?
Meanwhile, actor Ty Burrell showed up to the set on the first day of work with a face full of facial hair! His TV wife, Julie Bowen, posted a pic on her WhoSay account with the caption: "First day back of Season Four on Modern Family! Fantastic in every way including Ty's homage to Freddy Mercury." So will he sing "Bohemian Rhapsody" or what?
"Modern Family" Season 4 premieres on September 26 on ABC.
