Raul Osorio, recently auf'd from Season 10 of "Project Runway," has been making headlines after his dismissal from the show. In an interview with The Insider, Raul told reporters that he was "sick of the hate."
When asked about fans of the show hating on him and his designs, Raul said, "It's horrible. I just don't understand how someone can just sit and hate on people that way. Obviously those people need to do something with their lives instead of posting all that stuff."
But Raul is far from the first "PR" contestant to be subjected to copious amounts of fan-hate. Here are some of the show's most hated contestants.
Wendy Pepper, Season 1She seemed so nice at first, but Wendy Pepper revealed her true colors as she got close to the Final 3. She was mean-spirited, perhaps due to her own deep-seated feelings of inadequacy. Whatever the cause for her bad attitude, it's likely that the producers let her stay on for so long because it was so much fun to watch her fight with the other contestants. While nearly all fans hate her, they have to admit it was great fun to watch her butt heads with Jay.
Keith Michael Rizza, Season 3Keith Michael was the first-ever contestant to get kicked off the show for disobeying the rules. In addition to being a despicable cheat for using pattern books to give himself a competitive edge, he also left his team in a lurch when he was booted off the show. They did surprisingly well without him, however.
Angela Keslar, Season 3Season 3 was full of big personalities, and Angela was one of the biggest. She was also the most annoying, frequently arguing with polar opposite (and eventual winner) Jeff Sebelia. But it's hard to respect Angela; her design aesthetic was very "crafter" with those hideous rosettes popping up on tons of her designs. She was also clearly trying to manipulate her mother in order to get Jeff eliminated during the challenge with the mothers.
Kenley Collins, Season 5Granted, she's very talented, but some "PR" fans just can't stand her grating, brassy voice. Other fans find her vintage-inspired designs tiresome and lacking in innovation. While she deserves credit for making great clothes, she is disliked by hordes of "PR" fans.
Gretchen Jones, Season 8The Internet freaked out when Gretchen won Season 8, with many fans arguing that the more vibrant designs put forth by Mondo Guerra were far more deserving. While the edits of later episodes tried to raise viewer empathy for Gretchen, most fans were unforgiving of her manipulations and her cruel attitude.
Joshua McKinley, Season 9Granted, Olivier Green got a lot of fan-hate for his oatmeal-colored designs and perceived hatred of overweight women, but Josh M. also got on plenty of viewer nerves. His treatment of Bert and other teammates, his insane rivalry with Anya, and his complete inability to see his own shortcomings made him a tiresome, annoying bore.
