MTV Pilot ‘Self Promotion’ Casts 3; Jeremy Shamos Joins ‘Nurse Jackie’

(Spirited Away) and Derek Goh (The Brides Of March) have joined the cast of Self Promotion, MTV’s dark comedy pilot that will be directed by Zach Braff. Self Promotion centers on overworked assistant Katie Preston (Alexandra Krosney) who discovers that her dragon lady boss is missing (or worse). Things get messy fast, with Katie, believing she’ll be the prime suspect, covering up the crime scene. She starts calling the shots in her boss’s “absence,” and goes full CSI to find out what actually happened and exonerate herself. Alvarez, repped by Luber Roklin and Ziffren Brittenham, will play Wyatt, one of Katie’s co-workers at Critical Mass, the chic lifestyle website. Bledsoe, repped by TalentWorks and attorney Jeff Hynick, plays Josh Welsh, the website’s political editor and Goh, repped by Gersh and The Group Entertainment, will play Andrew, a recent college grad and “good natured slacker intern.

has been tapped for a major recurring role opposite Edie Falco in the seventh season of Showtime comedy Nurse Jackie. Shamos will play Anders Carlsson, a Norwegian real estate developer who becomes both an ally and antagonist to Jackie (Falco). He’s signed for a minimum of four episodes. Shamos, repped by TalentWorks and D2 Management, received a Tony nomination for his work in Clybourne Park and was most recently seen in the features Birdman with Michael Keaton and Emma Stone, and Woody Allen’s Magic In The Moonlight.
