The murder of Maripaz in "La Que No Podía Amar" makes Ana Paula's brother the main suspect. This is not the first time that Miguel has been in trouble with the law, but he insists that he is innocent. Will the real killer of Maripaz be found before Miguel pays for a crime he did not commit?
Maripaz is one of the young women in "La Que No Podía Amar" with a minor role. Her final scenes involve a party hosted by her parents because she is preparing to leave the village and attend school. Miguel is one of the guests at the party, and his alcohol problem takes center stage. Miguel's drinking has been an issue for a while, but Maripaz decides to intervene. Since she has a tendency to get emotionally involved in other people's issues, this is a normal occurrence for her.
Maripaz is Killed
Maripaz follows Miguel outside and tries to talk to him. After he rejects her help, she runs into one of Bruno Rey's hired hands. During a struggle with the man, she falls and hits her head on a rock. Bruno finds her body, checks her vitals, and discovers that she is dead. To cover up the crime, they decide to dispose of her body in the river. Maripaz is eventually found, and an investigation begins.
Miguel is Blamed
Since he was the last person to see her alive, Miguel is instantly blamed for her disappearance and murder. He denies being involved, but his drinking during that night makes it impossible for him to remember things. He did not see Bruno Rey's man or witness the struggle. Nevertheless, no one believes he is innocent because Bruno has covered their tracks well. Rogelio and Ana Paula can afford the best lawyers for her brother, so he may not have to pay for this crime.
During the final scenes of Maripaz' life, "La Que No Podía Amar" spends several moments showing that Bruno Rey's man has grabbed her necklace. The broken piece of jewelry remains in his hands after she falls and dies. Will it play a role in later scenes? It is possible that "La Que No Podía Amar" plans on using this piece of evidence to prove that Miguel is innocent in later episodes. However, Bruno's man has disappeared, and the location of the necklace is currently not known.
