NBC Gives 'Community' a Return Date

Good news, "Community" fans (and it appears that there are a few of you out there); school will be back in session next month.

NBC has given the Joel McHale/Chevy Chase comedy "Community" a return date of March 15, the network said Tuesday. the series will air Thursdays at 8 p.m., with "30 Rock moving to 8:30 to make room.

"Community" was shelved in November, leaving many to wonder about the fate of the show, which had been suffering declining ratings and viewership.

Series creator Dan Harmon and star McHale expressed their joy with the return via Twitter on Tuesday, with Harmon tweeting, "What you call 8:00, we call home. #Community returns to Thursday nights on March 15th" and McHale replying, "The real March Maddness [sic]."

"Community" will have its work cut out for itself; the show will be competing against both Fox's "American Idol" and CBS' "The Big Bang Theory," both hugely popular offerings.

NBC also said that "Parks and Recreation" will return on Thursday, April 19 at 9:30, taking the timeslot after "Up All Night" completes its season run in that spot.

How can you not like Community, especially after the mock tribute of Angelina Jolie's pose? Classic stuff!!! That was the highlight of the Oscars!!

I enjoy Big Bang, but the laugh track drives me crazy. I'd pick Community (which I probably like more anyway) for that reason alone. Other shows like Modern Family and New Girl also don't use a laugh track, and I enjoy them more for that.

Big Bang is good, but I like Community better. The show has McHale! It also has the rest of the people, who attend,( with all of their quirkiness) the school. I happen to hate the so called reality shows, and wish they would go the way of the dinosaurs

I am a big fan of this show, but I also like The Big Bang Theory as well. I choose to watch Big Bang and Community online. They need to pick a different time slot to give it a chance!

I couldnt believe NBC put Community on hiatus and kept Whitney and Up All Night on. Both of those shows are unfunny and boring. Glad Community is back. Now if they would only get rid of 30 Rock. I dont understand the appeal of that show at all.

I can't believe Big Bang Theory lasted past the first season. Any comedy with a laugh track, pitches at the LCD. Tired jokes, lame gags, and dull plots....show them what they've won!!! The adoration of droves of dullards.

  Have you guys ever watched it? Or are you just the stereotypical BBT fans who don't know good TV from bad? BBT DOES use a laugh track to fill in the gaps where the live audience didn't realize they were supposed to be laughing.

Its a DVR, maybe if I get bored show for me. But its up against the Big Bang, not going to beat those guys.

NBC's Thursday night lineup sucks. All of those shows are overrated yawners. The only show I found entertaining is Whitney and NBC moved it to Wednesday to make room for that other yawner, Up All Night.
