‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Cuts Into ‘Scorpion’ On West Coast

UPDATE, TUESDAY AM: Sources confirmed that the glitch, which lasted about two minutes, impacted CBS’ entire West Coast feed.

PREVIOUS, MONDAY PT: CBS’ Scorpion/NCIS: Los Angeles crossover episode is not slated to air until late October, but the NCIS: LA team inadvertently made an appearance on tonight’s episode of Scorpion in Los Angeles. At 9:30 PM, halfway through the second episode of new drama Scorpion, KCBS’ broadcast abruptly switched to the beginning of the season premiere of NCIS: LA, not slated to begin until 10 PM in the series’ new slot. After several minutes of the veteran crime drama, the telecast switched back to Scorpion, with most of the missed time coming at the expense of the commercial break.

In the planned mini Scorpion-NCIS: LA crossover episode, NCIS: LA‘s Linda Hunt will reprise her character in a Halloween-themed episode of Scorpion.

(UPDATE: The mishap may have been more widespread, affecting markets beyond Los Angeles. Readers report the same interruption happened in the Bay Area.)
