The Next '50 Shades'? 'Twilight' Fic Gets Deal

Has E.L. James met her match?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, popular Twilight fanfiction hit The Office, which reimagined the Edward Cullen and Bella Swan characters in a steamy romance between a boss and his assistant, is getting tweaked to become Beautiful Bastard, and it just scored a two book deal with Gallery Books.

Originally written by Christina Hobbs, a junior high counselor, in 2009, The Office actually preceded James' Master of the Universe -- 50 Shades of Grey's original fanfiction title. However, the tag line of Beautiful Bastard seems to mimic the same style relationship in 50 Shades between a powerful executive and a younger woman.

Pics: Who Should Play Anastasia and Christian in '50 Shades'?

"An ambitious intern. A perfectionist executive. And a whole lot of name calling. Discover the story that garnered over 2 million hits in under a year," it reads. Though instead of the naïve Anastasia we get "whip smart" intern Chloe Mills, who is about to earn her MBA and embark on a successful career, but gets involved with her "exacting, blunt inconsiderate" boss Bennett Ryan.

Beautiful Bastard is scheduled for publication on February 12, 2013 and the sequel, Beautiful Stranger, will be released on May 28, 2013.
