Nurse Jackie New Season Scoop, Plus a Season 3 DVD Clip
Rehab may be for quitters, but for one of TV's most complicated characters, it could also be the last resort.
"She has reached a level where something has to happen... it's either death or change," says Nurse Jackie star Edie Falco of her character's Season 4 foray into a detox program. Whether she actually cleans up, however, remains to be seen. "It looks like at least the beginning of her attempting to let go of this lifestyle," Falco says.
But it won't be just physical withdrawal symptoms and a psychological addiction to chaos that the pill-popping healer will have to contend with: Jackie still has to deal with her husband's affair, as well as the arrival of Bobby Cannavale, who "becomes quite a foe" as All Saints' prickly new administrator. "He is watching her very closely, and that is a big thing for her to contend with," says Falco. "He's trying to bring the whole hospital on the straight and narrow." Good Lord, he's a doctor, not a miracle worker!
