In April, Entertainment Weekly reported a red page has appeared in the script for the Season 8 finale of "NCIS." So what does this mean? Remember when Agent Kate Todd was shot? A red page also appeared for that episode. A red page script only includes the characters involved and essential crew to prevent anyone else from knowing the outcome. What does this mean for "NCIS" fans? One explosive, not to be missed season finale on May 17, 2011.The Port-to-Port Killer
Reports from TV Fanatic have stated the finale will have something to do with the Port-to-Port killer that has been mentioned throughout the last half of the season, especially since the new NCIS team was introduced. With Tony being targeted by a copy cat killer with the death of his former partner, the entire team is on their toes after realizing the only person who could have possibly reported the copy cat was the real killer.
The head of the new team, E.J. Barrett, has her sights set on the Port-to-Port Killer. This means she is more than likely to be a major player in the season finale. What we don't know is whether she will make it past the finale or not.
All reports have indicated that Gibbs is one of the main characters on the red page. While this doesn't necessarily mean he will be a victim, it does mean that whatever happens will affect him more than others. With the Port-to-Port Killer tie in, this could possibly mean someone Gibbs cares about deeply, including team members, friends and even family, could be targets for the killer.
Anyone Not Signed On
According to TV Squad, Cote De Pablo was the only main character hold out for Season 9 of "NCIS." Both her and Mark Harmon signed two year deals, keeping them firmly in place for next season. Since all the other main characters have signed on as well, this prevents any permanent character changes. However, there is one exception. Main characters could be changed to part time characters, appearing randomly or just in flashback type episodes. So is anyone really in the clear?
Who Could Go?
E.J. Barrett is a relatively new character, which has already caused problems between Gibbs and Tony. Since she is so deeply involved with the Port-to-Port Killer already, she would be far more dispensable than the main team members. With all the tension and intrigue with Director Vance, there is a possibility he could be targeted, resulting in changes in power at NCIS. This could mean Gibbs as the Director and Tony as the team's head.
The Killer's Real Identity
The real twist could be in revealing the killer. Could the killer actually be a character we've come to know already? Possibly one of the new team's members? Maybe it is someone from Gibbs's past. Regardless, we are all in for a wild wide come the finale and an anxious summer awaiting the results from the inevitable cliff hanger.
