Friday Night Lights's Matt Lauria is joining Parenthood's fourth season in a major recurring role, TVLine reports.
The former Dillon panther will play a returning soldier from Afghanistan who gets close with Zeek (Craig T. Nelson), a fellow veteran.

Parenthood's showrunner Jason Katims, has made a habit of recruiting actors from FNL, which he also created and executive-produced. Before Lauria, FNL vets Minka Kelly, Michael B. Jordan, Derek Phillips, Angela Rawna and Jeff Rosick also appeared on the NBC drama.
Parenthood returns Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 10/9c on NBC.
