The latest episode of "Partners" dealt with some tough times for Louis and Joe. The two architects were forced to question their careers, because they weren't getting enough work. That prompted another fight between the two, but it also revealed just how deep their friendship really is. It was nice to learn a little bit about how their strong bond formed, especially since it's the main theme of the show. In addition to that angle, there were plenty of laughs thanks to Ali's uncomfortable attraction to Wyatt. Here is a recap of the latest episode, "2 Broke Guys."
Struggles at work
Louis and Joe are eating lunch at the office with Ali and Wyatt, but things aren't going well. It turns out that Louis and Joe don't have any jobs right now, and the bills are mounting. They are waiting to hear if an offer was accepted, but there are varying levels of confidence. Louis isn't worried, but Joe is. While they are getting coffee, they run into two of their former co-workers. It turns out that their old firm got the job that they really wanted, and that leads to a fight.
Louis says that Joe is the reason that they left their old firm in the first place. He says that Joe ruined everything by quitting, and then mentions that they should both get their old jobs back. Joe says that he has his reasons, and Louis says that he should be a man about it. Joe responds by saying that Louis should be a man and ask his estranged brother, who is also an architect, for help. Louis's brother had rejected his lifestyle choices in the past, leading Louis to disown him.
Louis visits his old firm to get their jobs back, but he bumps into their old co-workers again. He finds out that Joe quit the job because the boss was going to fire Louis. An upset Louis decides to take a train to ask his brother for a job. Joe stops him before he knocks on his brother's door and says that he doesn't have to do this. Louis admits to Joe that he doesn't feel like he has a brother at all. Joe points out that he is Louis's brother, and the two decide to make their own company work. At the end of the episode, they tell their significant others that they got a job that will allow them remodel six stores.
Wyatt and Ali
When Joe visits Ali at her store, he is surprised to see Wyatt doing work there. Things get even stranger when Ali gives Wyatt a kiss goodbye. Joe asks Ali about it, but she says it was just a friendly kiss. The next time he sees Ali at work, she gives Wyatt a friendlier kiss. However, Joe ends up thinking that the kiss was worse than the last one. He says that Ali gets enjoyment out of the kiss, and she responds by saying that he's being ridiculous. To prove her point, she plants a big kiss on Wyatt. As it turns out, she does get turned on a little bit. She asks Wyatt to leave, and then asks Joe to join her in the back of the store.
