Last night, Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" returned from summer break with a bang. Host and executive producer Andy Cohen kicked off the talk show's new season with lively guests Perez Hilton and Teresa Giudice. Perez appeared to be a specter of himself in a slimmed down physique with a post-Oprah glow. Teresa contrasted the kinder, gentler Hilton by defending her current role as the much-hated "Real Housewives of New Jersey" villainess.
Just because Perez has made a pilgrimage to the land of Winfrey doesn't mean that the man is no longer fun. The "Queen of All Media" repeatedly quipped about what a well-known stud Andy Cohen is. Do tell, Perez! Andy maintained a straight face, not letting the audience in on his bedroom antics.
Cohen did, however, demand an apology of sorts from Hilton. During a round of "Plead the Fifth," Perez revealed that the star he most owed an apology to was Christina Aguilera. In a sort of faux pas of apology-making, Perez then listed some of the particularly nasty names he called X-tina in the past. Andy jumped right in, letting Perez know that he was also very mean to his BFF Sarah Jessica Parker. Perez also offered SJP a mea culpa.
For her part, Mrs. Giudice was not there to offer up any apologies. She talked about how "high school" her former bestie Caroline Manzo has been. Tre and the show's matriarch are involved in one of the show's most vicious battles to date.
"Caroline" was the drinking game clue of the night. The show's poll was, of course, "Whose side are you on: Caroline's or Teresa's?" Obviously the show's fans overwhelmingly sided with Caroline. Tre's cause was probably not helped by her husband quipping, "Go dye your hair, Caroline" on last night's episode of "RHONJ."
Perez seemed to limit his interactions with Teresa. While she was there to defend herself, he seemed to be there for the fun of it. His inaugural appearance on "WWHL" was a success. He even alluded to a former feud with Cohen, but especially after his SJP apology, all seems to be forgiven.
As it was the first show of the new TV season, Andy wanted to rehash some of the summer news. He invited Perez and Teresa to join him in a round of "Mazels and Jackholes." Prince Harry going nude definitely was a Mazel. Katie Holmes' split from Tom Cruise and Snooki's baby boy were also both Mazels. Clint Eastwood's famous talking to the empty chair routine won a Mazel from Perez for "entertainment" and a Jackhole from Andy.
