Reese ( Jim Caviezel ) and Zoe (Paige Turco) get married in the "Person of Interest" episode "The High Road." OK, not really. It's just a pretend marriage. The next person of interest, Graham Wyler (David Denman), leads Reese to the 'burbs, where Finch (Michael Emerson) has set him up with house and car. He already has the dog. The wife is up to Reese. Building on the flirting and butt-tapping from last week's episode, "Bury the Lede," the "couple" take their relationship to the next level: pretend marriage.
Reese is prepared for anything: except benign neighbors
When Reese and Zoe begin settling in at their new "home," the doorbell rings. Reese immediately pulls his gun. Fortunately, it's the Wyler and his family inviting Reese and Zoe over for a barbeque. Reese is surprised to learn that there is no need for his usual scheming. They are doing his job for him.
The Machine becomes the next match-making guru
Finch finds romance, as well. His date occurs in the past, however. In flashbacks, we learn how Finch met the woman who would later become his fiance. It happened while Finch was teaching the Machine to understand people. One of the people the Machine targets as "interesting" is Grace. Finch initially thinks that it must be a bug until he realizes that she really is interesting. She just isn't a "person of interest." Rather, she is the perfect match for Finch.
Wyler: loving husband, father, and safe-cracker
Carter (Taraji P. Henson) learns that Wyler is actually Lloyd Pruitt. It turns out that he used to be a master safe-cracker. He wanted to escape that life and was too busy becoming Graham Wyler. Meanwhile, his two thieving buddies tried to continue the next job without him, where one of them, Chris Vaughn (Dominic Fumusa), shot an unarmed guard.
They went to prison while Pruitt was off creating a new life as Wyler. They blame Wyler for their jail stint, and now want payback in the form of another safe-cracking job. He realizes he has no choice when they threaten the lives of his wife and daughter.
Wyler turns himself in out of love
Reese deftly infiltrates the job by repelling down the side of the building, then making a loud thump as a distraction. One of the other thieves goes out to check on the noise, and Reese knocks him out and steals his mask. From the inside, Reese is able to handle the situation and gives Wyler the chance to escape. Rather than continue hiding and putting his family in further possible danger down the road, Wyler decides to turn himself in. Doing the right thing results in Wyler being able to stay home with his family with an ankle bracelet tracker.
