Amar'e Stoudemire, New York Knicks captain, proposed to the mother of his three children, Alexis Welch, in Paris on Saturday.
After the couple spent the day taking a private tour of Paris, the six-time NBA All-Star popped the question outside their penthouse Le Meurice Hotel Belle Etoile Royal Suit overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

"I have been planning my proposal for a while and overlooking the entire Paris skyline seemed like a perfect place. I am so happy she said yes and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife," Stoudemire, 29, said in a statement to Us Weekly from Paris.
Welch's engagement ring was designed by Stoudemire with Los Angeles-based celebrity jeweler Shayan Afshar.

The couple met in 2002 and plan to say "I do" in 2013.
