Pilot Scoop: Billy Campbell Joins Fox's Delirium

The Killing‘s Billy Campbell has been cast in Fox’s dystopian drama pilot Delirium, TVLine has learned.

Campbell will play Thomas Fineman in the project, which is set in a world where love is deemed illegal and is able to be eradicated with a special procedure.

Thomas is a wealthy lobbyist who supports the use of the procedure, which leads to a peaceful society free of the ups and downs of romantic entanglement. Despite his good looks and perfect image, though, Campbell’s character can be reduced to unbridled rage during times of trouble.

Delirium is based on the bestselling young adult novels by Lauren Oliver and stars Emma Roberts (Unfabulous, Nancy Drew) as a defiant teen who falls in love 95 days before her scheduled treatment.

The pilot’s script was written by Karyn Usher (Prison Break), who will serve as an EP alongside Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope.

In addition to playing The Killing‘s politically minded Darren Richmond, Campbell has had roles on Once and AgainThe O.C., The 4400 and Melrose Place and played the title part in Disney’s 1991 film, The Rocketeer.
