From Nikita creator/executive producer Craig Silverstein and Barry Josephson, the project is based on Alexander Rose’s book Washington’s Spies: The Story of America’s First Spy Ring and centers on hard-working New York cabbage farmer Abraham Woodhull (Bell), who forms a group of spies with his pals in the summer of 1778. The gang winds up helping America greatly in its fight for independence.

As previously reported, Meegan Warner co-stars as Abraham’s wife Mary.

Bell followed up his breakthrough role in 2000′s Billy Elliot with mostly supporting parts in films such as Nicholas Nickleby, Deathwatch, Jumper and Jane Eyre. Turn marks his first major television gig.
