With the "Pretty Little Liars" mid-season finale coming soon, fans are still desperate to know who "A" really is. Clues have been dropped, but none of them seem to add up to anything. The bad news is, the answer may not be revealed this year. However, the cast of the show have been discussing who they think might be responsible for their misery. Here's what they had to say, and the likelihood of their guesses becoming a reality.
Ian Harding thinks "A" is a group of people
Ian Harding, who plays Ezra Fitz, thinks that "A" is not just one person, but many. This is a theory that many fans have considered, and when you look at all that "A" has done, it seems impossible that one person could do it alone. From spying, to text messages, to hitting Hanna (Ashley Benson) with a car. It is a lot for someone to handle alone. The drawback to this idea is that there would have to be a bunch of very twisted people, all determined to get revenge on the girls. Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) made a lot of enemies when she was alive, and dragged her friends into the trouble too. Unless it is Garrett (Yani Gellman) and Jenna (Tammin Sursok), there can't be many other groups of people who would all be so cruel.
Lucy Hale thinks we haven't met "A" yet
As we reach the middle of Season 2, it seems crazy to think that we may not even have seen "A" on screen yet! The pair of gloved hands is the only glimpse we've had, but Lucy Hale doesn't believe they belong to a known character. Unless this person shows up soon, it would be disappointing to find that "A" is someone we don't know. Part of the fun of mystery shows is figuring out which person we never suspected was really responsible for the crime!
Ashley Benson thinks "A" is one of the girls
Ashley Benson made an interesting remark when she said, "It could be Spencer, she would be a good candidate for it." Spencer (Troian Bellisario) was a definite suspect right from the start with her seemingly cold personality. As the show has progressed, a much softer side to her has been seen, and it is almost hard to imagine that she would be capable of hurting her best friend. If she did indeed turn out to be "A," it would be both a dream and a nightmare. In terms of plot, it's fantastic, but it would certainly upset Spencer fans.
The "Pretty Little Liars" cast all have very different ideas about who "A" could be. Perhaps one of them is right, or maybe they are all wrong. All of these theories are valid, and with the twists and turns that have happened so far, anything is possible. The idea of "A" being one of the "Pretty Little Liars" is the most complex, yet brilliant idea. While fans of the books by Sarah Shepard already know the truth, the rest of us will have to keep guessing for a while. With the show soon to be on hiatus, we may have to wait longer than five months to find out the truth!
