Project Runway's Tim Gunn: "I Haven't Had Sex in 29 Years!"

For nearly three decades, Tim Gunn has been celibate.

During an appearance on ABC's The Revolution Tuesday, the 58-year-old Project Runway mentor revealed that he hasn't "had sex in 29 years."

Gunn, an openly gay man, said he doesn't feel like "less of a person" because of his non-existent sex life. "I'm a perfectly fulfilled person," Gunn explained. "But it's very physiological."

The Lifetime star, who is also an expert on The Revolution, fought back tears as he explained that his former partner of six years "was impatient with my sexual performance," prompting him to become abstinent.

Gunn added that he doesn't believe sex is the most important factor in a relationship. "I'm happy to be healthy and alive, frankly," he said.

Wow, now this is a man. Happy with who he is and comfortable with how he is and not going to be told how he needs to be. I'm not into celebrities, but this is the first one that is what he is and that I can respect.

I admire his honesty. I have always admired his integrity and the way he treats the designers on Project Runway. He has demonstrated a humor and compassion that is the best trait of character.

I know a couple of people like that. Sex to them isn't all that important. Kudos to Mr Gunn for saying this since my friends only talk about it to their closest friends. People are very judgmental. Nothing wrong with putting sex on the back burner...

I think it's brave of him to open up about this. While I'm not okay with people giving details about their sex life, he's right by saying that sex isn't the most important thing. Celibacy can be for ANYONE, gay or straight.

Good for you Tim Gunn, way to be honest. Celibacy is nothing to be ashamed of, our society worships sex and that gets tiresome to me.

Sex? I don't need it either. I'd rather crawl into bed with a good book for the simple reason, that with a book, if you get interripted at the climax, you can mark your spot and go back to where you left off without having to start all over from the beginning!

Awww...bless his heart. That really had a devastating impact on his sex life. That ex isn't the only person in the world. Sometimes people just don't fit in that area. It doesn't mean that their isn't someone else who will think his performance is great. People can really destroy each other. He seems pretty, healthy, otherwise. However, needless to say, that last relationship really destroyed his sexual, self-esteem:(
