On a Monday night that offered a dearth of original programming, CBS emerged with the top numbers for the evening with its slate of repeats, besting specials featuring Charlie Brown and Rudolph, according to preliminary numbers.
CBS took first place in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic with a 1.2 rating/3 share. The network also scored the night’s highest total viewership, averaging 5.2 million for the night. A “Mike & Molly” repeat at 9 p.m. took the night’s best numbers with a 1.5/4 and 6.3 million total viewers.
ABC shared second place in ratings with NBC with a 0.9/3, and was second place outright in total viewers with 3.8 million. The network aired mostly holiday fare, starting with “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown” at 8 p.m. “She’s a Good Skate, Charlie Brown,” followed at 8:30, with “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year” airing at 9. A “Castle” repeat at 10 rounded out the evening.
NBC, which edged out Fox for third place in total viewers with 3.1 million, aired repeats throughout the night.
Fox also opted for repeats, drawing fourth place in ratings and total viewers with a 0.8/2 and 3 million.
The CW, also in repeat mode, averaged a 0.5/1 and 1.5 million.
