There's nothing suspect about Elementary's premiere numbers.
The CBS drama opened big Thursday, bowing to 13.2 million viewers and a 3.1 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, winning the 10 p.m. hour in both measures. The Sherlock Holmes update also built on lead-in Person of Interest's demo (14.2 million, 3.0) and was up from what timeslot predecessor The Mentalist's 2.8 rating last year.
The other new series of the night, ABC's Last Resort, nabbed 9 million viewers and a 2.2. That's just a tenth higher in the demo compared to Charlie's Angel's debut in the slot last fall.
Vote: Which fall premieres won you over? Which flopped?
CBS won the night in the demo and viewership, anchored by The Big Bang Theory (15.3 million, 4.8), which dropped just a tenth from last season's premiere. Two and a Half Men made its Thursday night debut to 12.3 million and a 3.5, expectedly down from last year's massive numbers (28 million, 10.7) for Ashton Kutcher's debut.
On ABC, Shonda Rhimes' Grey's Anatomy (11.5 million, 4.3) and Scandal (7 million, 2.3) were both up from their previous season premieres.
Fox's The X Factor (9.1 million, 3.2) and Glee (6 million, 2.5) were both slightly down from last week.
NBC's comedy lineup all grew week-to-week, but the numbers are likely inflated because of football preemptions in Baltimore and Cleveland.
