    Ratings: NCIS Rises to Season High; Cougar Town Has Solid TBS Debut

    NCIS returned to a season high Tuesday, while Cougar Town made a respectable debut on TBS.

    The CBS drama pulled in 20.8 million viewers and a 3.5 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, up from its last episode three weeks ago. NCIS: Los Angeles (17.8 million, 3.0) and Vegas (10.7 million, 1.6) were flat.

    NBC's season premiere of Betty White's Off Their Rockers (5.6 million, 1.5) was down from last year's opener. Without The Voice as a lead-in, Go On (4.2 million, 1.5) and The New Normal (3.2 million, 1.3) slumped to series lows. Parenthood (5.2 million, 1.9) inched up a tenth from last week.

    On ABC, Happy Endings (3.7 million, 1.4) and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 (3.2 million, 1.1) were both up from their Sunday broadcasts. Private Practice (3.9 million, 1.1) was down a tenth.

    Fox's whole lineup was steady, save for Ben and Kate (2.5 million, 1.2), which grew a tenth.

    On cable, Cougar Town's TBS debut earned 2.2 million viewers, with 1.3 million viewers in the demo. That's slightly below Men at Work's premiere numbers (2.7 million, 1.6 million) last summer.
