Ratings Rat Race: ‘Modern Family’ & ‘Off Their Rockers’ Up; ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘Idol’ & ‘Rock Center’ Down

The Disneyland-themed episode of ABC’s Modern Family (4.3/12 in adults 18-49) last night was up three tenths from the fast national last week (two from the final) to post a two-month high for the hit comedy and its most competitive finish ever against Fox’s American Idol (4.4/12). Both series will likely be adjusted up in the finals. The rest of the ABC shows were within a tenth from their results last week: The Middle (1.9/6) was down a tenth, Suburgatory (2.1/6) and Revenge (2.2/6) were up a tenth, and Don’t Trust The B—- (2.3/6) was down a tenth from its fast national, even with the final.

Idol was down two tenths from its fast national last week but still delivered another Wednesday victory for Fox in 18-49 and total viewers. CBS’ Survivor (2.7/8) was up a tenth from last week. Criminal Minds (2.8/8) was down two tenths while the season finale of CSI (2.4/7) was up a tenth from last week to win the 10 PM slot but down 8% from last season’s finale.

NBC’s Off Their Rockers continues its wild ratings swings. The 8 PM episode (1.5/5) was up 15% after a 24% drop last Wednesday. The 8:30 PM episode (1.6/5) was up 14%. Rock Center‘s three-week streak of ratings increases was snapped last night when the newsmagazine (0.8/2) dropped 20%. The newly renewed Law & Order: SVU (1.7/5) was down 11%. The CW’s America’s Next Top Model was down a tenth.
