In time zone-adjusted metered-market results, last night’s game on NBC drew a 13.6/24 between 8:30-9 PM ET and 10 PM-12:15 AM ET. Among the takeaway stats, the Seehawks-49ers matchup was the best overnight result for any West Coast NFC primetime game since November 25, 1991, when the 49ers played the then-LA Rams. That faceoff scored a 15.4/24. Overall, NBC easily won the night with a 6.3/17 rating and 15.949 million viewers. CBS was No. 2 with a 2.9/8 rating and 10.277 million viewers.
The Miss America Pageant (1.9/5) crowned its first Indian-American winner with New York’s Nina Davuluri on last night’s show. The two-hour live contest, the second of this calendar year, was up a lovely 19% for ABC over the January 12, 2013 9 PM to 11 PM show to the Pageant’s best number since 2004. A 20/20: Pageant Confidential (0.9/2) special at 8 PM was also up, rising 50% from the 0.6/2 of its January 2013 airing.
On Fox, the NFL also ran into the network’s night of animation encores in about 15% of the county.NFL football hit CBS’ primetime on Sunday too. With the Denver Broncos and New York Giants game running late, the network’s prime was delayed about 50 minutes last night. Which means, among other things, that all their preliminary numbers are more tentative that usual and will likely see more adjustments than usual in the final numbers. Pushed back to around 7:50 PM in most of the country, last night’s 60 Minutes got a 2.8/8. Heading towards September 18’s Season 15 finale, last night’s Big Brother(1.8/4) was a clip show of the cycle so far. With the overrun and the competition of Sunday Night Football, the Julie Chen-hosted reality show was down 22% from last week to tie its worst Sunday results in series history.
