Ashton Kutcher is officially one of the Two and a Half Men.

CBS boss looks to the future with Ashton Kutcher and Ted Danson

The actor, who plays Walden Schmidt, an Internet billionaire with a broken heart, filmed his first episode of the CBS sitcom Friday night, which included the funeral of Charlie Sheen's character, TMZ.com reports.

In attendance at Charlie Harper's funeral were Alan (Jon Cryer), Jake (Angus T. Jones), Charlie's stalker Rose (Melanie Lynskey) and one of Charlie's exes (Jenny McCarthy), sources present for the taping told the site. The audience was only privy to certain scenes of the premiere, as to not reveal Charlie's actual cause of death. Some sort of "accident" was the only thing mentioned in front of the live studio audience, though multiple takes were shot. (We're guessing it's an overdose of tiger blood, no?)

Report: Two and a Half Men to kill Charlie Sheen's character

Meanwhile, Sheen's not grieving over the death of Charlie Harper. The actor, who was fired in March Warner Bros. TV after months of growing tension between Sheen and creator Chuck Lorre, tells TMZ he plans to celebrate the end of his character. "I will be watching my fake funeral, attended by my fake ex-girlfriends, from my very, very real movie theater, with my very real hotties in tow."

The ninth season of Two and a Half Men premieres on Monday, Sept. 19 at 9/8c on CBS.

So his own MOTHER and BERTA won't be attending??? Getting rid of those characters was a huge mistake as well. BERTA is hysterically funny as well as the old horny lush of a mother.

        Doesn't make sense....

Berta cleaning house for the mother. That would be a great show!

Just because they aren't mentioned doesn't mean they weren't there. They are only supporting cast, not the stars of the show.
    • BamaDave  •  9 months ago
Yeah, big letdown if they didn't keep Berta. She's a hoot and I'd miss her more than Charlie.

of course everyone will tune in for the first episode. after that, let's see what happens. I believe this will be the final season of MEN

At least they are trying. I couldn't see another season with Charlie. Not enough new material. SOS.

I agree. Without Charlie, there is no show. I also wonder if the funeral scene is supposed to really be Charlie's death or somebody's dream. I don't know how many people remember Bobby Ewing being killed off "Dallas," only to return two seasons later. The season in between was "Pam's dream." This could be "Alan's dream season."

They should end it while its on top instead of dragging a good show through the gutter. Take out the whole focus of the show and guess what YOU HAVE NO MORE SHOW.

In my opinion, by killing off Charlie, it is a big mistake. You could use absent Charlie in so many settings, especially with Rose. The show's characters will always have "dead" Charlie hanging over them. Keep him alive and you can keep making fun of him in Paris, London, wherever, with him refusing to come home. Like a "where's waldo this week ?" Thus, I am NOT a writer.

Why would any cast member or director, who had such ambivalent feelings towards him at the end (and justifiably so) wish to drag Charlie's presence back into the show? I know if I were them, I would be absolutely, unequivocally DONE with him.

Souldn't let you're emotions or dislike get in the way if buisness. Buisness and money go hand in hand. A good rule of thumb....NEVER BURN BRIDGES. Charlie mey get well. No one should hate the guy for being sick. I'd be willing to bet, the drugs and antics are related to an underlying mental issue.

I don't see why they just start a new show. Do they really have to continue Two and a Half Men...

Its hard to have a hit show. They are going to try and keep it going. Im guessing you dont make a lot of money.
      • Joe 9 months ago
Actors make around 100-200grand per episode on hit shows like this. So imagine how much the top dogs makes.

Marybeh is correct when she said Kutcher is a crappy actor. The show will not be the same without Charlie. This will be like continuing Three's Company without Jack Ritter, or Married With Children without Ed O'Neal. It would never be the same. I can go on and on with many more comparisons, but the bottom line is that Kutcher does not know how to act and the show without Charlie just simply won't be the same.

sheen sucks....but he is the BEST "charlie harper" there is....and was an integral part of the show (along with john cryer, and angus, and conchata farrel).

the show will tank, but oh well
    • Barb Rasmussen  •  9 months ago
I think it won't be the same
    • Marybeth  •  9 months ago
Kutcher is the worst actor ever...Sheen's got problems, but Kutcher was not the answer...I give the show one more year. Ratings will sink after the first few episodes.

It won't be the same without Charlie Harper. Just Kill the show.

I won't be watching!! Don't care for Ashton!! Big Mistake!! Bertha & Mother gone too??
      BIGGER MISTAKE!!
    • Mary  •  9 months ago
I will be watching the first episode out of morbid curiosity, but it definitely will not be the same. No matter what anyone thinks of Sheen the actor, "Charlie Harper" definitley made Two and a Half Men, Two and a Half Men. It can never be the same. Ashton Kutcher?? Not so much.
    • T  •  9 months ago
Although I like Ashton and the rest of the cast,I refuse to watch the new Two and a Half Men! My love of the show came from Charlie and I will not watch it anymore, my complete dedication is still with Charlie Sheen. That show made it because of him, and to treat him like he is being treated is unfair and ridiculous. Where are you people's loyalty for Charlie making yall rich? Shame Shame! Terry from Louisiana

They should bury the whole show now that charlie is gone.
    • brenda  •  9 months ago
Charlie was the show. No Charlie no show.
    • Deb  •  9 months ago
I'm going to defend Charlie Sheen for just a bit. I used to work for Warner Bros. and I had one run-in with Mr. Sheen. He was a perfect gentleman and very nice and polite. That's my own personal memory of him. In spite of everything in the papers and on the news, I will still remember what a nice guy he was...to me.
