"She is in serious talks right now," a source told the magazine. McCarthy is currently hosting her own VH1 series, but the talk show has struggled to find an audience. "Her show isn't quite working out, so she's definitely open to it."
"The cast and crew get a kick out of Jenny," another source added. "She's a good fit. She may not be able to carry a show, but she works well with a group ensemble."
McCarthy would replace Joy Behar when the comedian leaves The View in August. According to a third insider, McCarthy won't be the only new face on The View this fall. Brooke Shields is also allegedly in talks to replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck, though Hasselbeck has yet to confirm her departure. And come summer 2014, The View will have to search for yet another host replacement, when Barbara Walters retires.
