YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

‘Revolution’ episode 3 recap: Fighting for lost causes

As the third episode of "Revolution" begins, Miles, Nora, and Charlie are walking along an overgrown road. Miles tries to convince Nora to keep the sniper rifle she stole for herself because of its immense value, but Nora is committed to the rebel cause and bringing back the old USA.

Nora brings Charlie and Miles to her rebel base, where Nora is greeted with a big hug by her friend, Nicolas. In a nod to the classic post-apocalyptic novel "The Stand," Miles introduces himself and Charlie as "Stu Redman" and "Frannie" to hide their identity.

All is not well at the rebel base: The rebels just went on a raid that morning and got caught in a militia trap leaving 12 of their people dead with one captured by the militia. The captured man gives away the location of the rebel base, endangering Miles, Nora, and Charlie.

With their base under fire from the militia, the few remaining rebels band together to fight back against their attackers. Miles takes charge of the situation, sending one rebel up to the roof to act as a sniper. Meanwhile, Miles starts digging an escape tunnel, while Charlie sets up a trip wire on the base's door.

However, the tunnel collapses and the militia storms the base. When the militia's commanding officer recognizes Miles, Charlie learns the truth about her uncle. Miles was one of the founders of the Monroe Republic, alongside Sebastian Monroe himself.

Miles offers himself up in trade for the lives of everyone else and is taken away by the militia. However, Charlie and the rebels are able to stage a rescue, blowing up a bridge to put some distance between themselves and the militia.

Back at Grace's farmhouse, Aaron and Maggie have found Grace's secret computer room. Aaron, as a former Google employee, understands what the ruined computer was capable of doing. He tells Maggie they need to stay at the farmhouse, despite the personal risk, because there is nothing more important than understanding how Grace had the power to run her computer.

The pendant lights up on its own and turns on a Walkman. Aaron listens to Marvin Gaye, and Maggie can see her children's faces on her iPhone. Without explanation, the pendant turns off, leaving Aaron and Maggie wondering how this little miracle happened, and how they can make it happen again.
