After guest stints on Fox's New Girl, The Cleveland Show and FX's Wilfred, Rob Riggle has landed a headlining gig on the network.
The funnyman is in final negotiations to star in the network's comedy pilot The Gabriels, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
In the comedy about an introverted, neurotic Wisconsin family that lives in a community of over-sharers, Riggle will play Ken Gabriel, a child-like man with devilish energy.
The League's Justin Hurwitz and The Last Exorcism Part II's Andrew Gurland will write and executive produce the 20th Television single-camera comedy.
In addition to his role on Adult Swim's NTSF:SD:SUV and on the big screen in 21 Jump Street, the former Daily Show correspondent and Saturday Night Live player's credits include arcs on ABC's Happy Endings and Gary Unmarried. He's repped by WME, Principato-Young Entertainment and Sloane Offer.
