María Corina is encouraging Bárbara to trick José Ignacio because she is pregnant on "Rosa Diamante." The telenovela is resorting to an overused tactic of fake paternity tests to confuse the characters. It is an unfortunate decision, because viewers have seen this idea used extensively in other shows. The production team always seems to forget about DNA tests.
Bárbara is pregnant
Bárbara is pregnant and knows that the father is Roncancio. Since she is still married to José Ignacio, María Corina encourages her to convince him that he is the father. This seems to be an easy plan, but José Ignacio has refused to sleep with Bárbara for weeks and is not going to believe that she is suddenly pregnant. María Corina still tries to convince her to go through with the plan and lie after the baby is born. She thinks that Bárbara can get away with claiming that the baby will be born premature.A bad idea
The paternity lies always end badly on telenovelas, and "Rosa Diamante" is not likely to forge a new path. José Ignacio may be foolish, but even he is not naive enough to believe Bárbara's lies. Since Rosa has recently been released from jail, this will simply set up an opportunity for them to rekindle their relationship by giving him a reason to leave Bárbara. It is a simple plot twist employed numerous times with the same results."Rosa Diamante" will probably resort to the typical paternity test lies that have been seen before. Bárbara will try to seduce José Ignacio, claim he is the father, and pretend that Roncancio is not related to the baby. Unfortunately, all of the lies can be quickly dissolved with one DNA test.

"Rosa Diamante" continues to keep José Ignacio and Rosa apart. Although she has been released from jail after serving a shortened sentence for kidnapping, Rosa may not be free for long. She is now taking care of Rosaura and could be charged with kidnapping again. Even if she keeps her freedom, Rosa's relationship with José Ignacio will not be rekindled quickly. Bárbara's pregnancy may eventually end her marriage to José Ignacio and allow for Rosa to be reunited with him, but viewers can expect the pregnancy storyline to drag on for weeks as Rosa pretends to avoid José Ignacio because she does not want to leave the child without a father.More from this contributor:
