Katy Perry's comedian ex-husband Russell Brand is a wild man. He's made no apologies about that. But the sexy British rock 'n' roller didn't always have an eccentric career (or wardrobe!); he was once a mailman. Not surprisingly, though, his expectations on his mail route were definitely not the norm. He showed up on "The Late Show With David Letterman" (in leather pants) to chat about his preceleb life and what he thought were the perks of delivering letters. His understanding: "As a mailman, sex would be everywhere for me."
"In my mind, there's a sort of a cultural illusion that this is an opportunity for early morning conjugal activity," Brand told a chuckling Letterman in this clip from Monday night's show. "I thought the housewives would open the door with a gesture to their nether regions," he went on. But in a surprising turn of events (surprising only to Brand), that wasn't the case. "That's not a window for sex. They just want their letters, basically," added the lothario.
Did he have any success in his three-week stint as a postman? "Zero percent success rate," said the disappointed comedian. Well, at least he found a way to make himself feel better: stealing packages. According to Brand, "There's rich pickings in the mail sack."
